Ireland sure can crank out the gore.

Well I was browsing the often terrible selction of gory horror movies on Netflix and I couldn't find anything I hadn't seen already that was really worth watching, so I decided to give Boy Eats Girl a shot. Now, I had gone over this title many times in the last few weeks, and as with most movies I come across, the cover image and description did it very little justice. When I first started watching all I could really think was "Well, this isn't much of a movie, it kind of seems like the usual trash that comes out of the UK.", and it was like that for a while, just a bunch of teenagers at school being stupid teenagers (though everyone is quite obviously in their mid twenties), it just seemed to drag on forever, so I turned my attention to my computer. After about, oh maybe 40 minutes or so I start to look over and notice that things are getting pretty violent, so I just started watching with my attention undivided, and let me tell you, whoever directed this is a fucking madman and a genius, the gore was short-lived but entirely made up for the previous amount of wasted time.

I suppose I should give a little look into what the plot of this movie is, it's about a boy (Nathan) who is extremely dissatisfied with his life, and suicidal to boot. One day he gets drunk and decides to wrap a noose around his neck, and he dies (I won't spoil how he died), then his mother resurrects him using some old voodoo magic, but as always, with magic there is a price to pay. The side effects of the ritual turn those that were resurrected into flesh-eating monsters, who in turn infect all those that are bitten or eaten (that's right, this is a zombie flick).

That's about it folks, I really hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

(p.s. Sadly I cannot provide a full-length embedded video for this movie, and I probably won't be able to do that with most, but I'll do my best to provide you with links and info to save you the time.)

And so it begins...

Well, welcome to the very first post of my very first blog. I think I'll start things off with, in my opinion, the greatest gore film to come out of Japan yet: Tokyo Gore Police. I first stumbled across this little gem about two years ago when I was browsing around the horror section of my usual free-movie website, at first I thought it would be a complete piece of shit, mostly due to the terrible description that was posted and the relatively dull cover image.

Now this movie is full of everything you would expect from our friends in the far east, a fabulous plot and storyline, absolutely vivid and shocking visuals, and of course incredibly impossible monsters and mutated abominations. I'll leave you with an IMDB link and an embedded full length video (thanks to google!).

Enjoy!
